The Showbread
The Table of Showbread (also called the “Bread of the Presence”) was a sacred piece of furniture in ancient Israel’s worship system. It stood inside the Holy Place of the Tabernacle and later the Temple. On it were placed 12 loaves of bread, representing the 12 tribes of Israel.
